Travelling is encouraged in Islam. Prayers during the journey of the person are considered a shield in Islam. Dua for traveling helps the person in a way that can even alter it. Travelling can be risky at times like night. Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) guided his ummah to travel in a group rather than alone at night.  

Dua For Travelling Arabic: 

There are safar ke adaab that includes recitation of Dua for traveling in Arabic. The Holy Prophet (S.AW) said: “When you leave your house, perform two raka’at, and this will safeguard you against evils. When you return home, perform another two raka’at, and this will safeguard you against evils.”  

When a person leaves his house, he must recite the following dua. 

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ 

Bismillah, tawakkaltu ‘alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah” 

Dua for Travelling in Arabic is as follows. 

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ.

Dua For Travelling in Flight: 

When a person steps into a plane he must recite Bismillah and then recite the following Dua for traveling by plane. 

رَّبِّ اَدْخِلْنِيْ مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَّاَخْرِجْنِيْ مُخْــرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَّاجْعَلْ لِّيْ مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ سُلْطٰنًا نَّصِيْرًا

When a person is traveling in a car, bike, or on a cycle he must say “Alhamdulillah first and then recite it. Dua for travelling in the Car.

بِسْـمِ اللهِ وَالْحَمْـدُ لله، سُـبْحانَ الّذي سَخَّـرَ لَنا هذا وَما كُنّا لَهُ مُقْـرِنين، وَإِنّا إِلى رَبِّنا لَمُنـقَلِبون، الحَمْـدُ لله، الحَمْـدُ لله، الحَمْـدُ لله، اللهُ أكْـبَر، اللهُ أكْـبَر، اللهُ أكْـبَر، سُـبْحانَكَ اللّهُـمَّ إِنّي ظَلَـمْتُ نَفْسي فَاغْـفِرْ لي، فَإِنَّهُ لا يَغْفِـرُ الذُّنوبَ إِلاّ أَنْـت 

Dua For Travelling in English:

It is important to know the meaning of the Dua to understand what it means. Dua for traveling in English is as follows. 

“Glory unto Him Who created this transportation, for us, though we were unable to create it on our own. And unto our Lord, we shall return.” 

“My Lord! Let my entry (to the city of Al-Madinah) be good, and likewise, my exit (from the city of Makkah) be good. And grant me from You an authority to help me (or a firm sign or a proof). “

Subhana-alladhi sakh-khara la-na hadha wa ma kunna la-hu muqrinin. Wa inna ila Rabbi-na la munqalibun.

میرے مالک! میرا (شہر مدینہ میں) داخلہ بھی اچھا ہو اور اسی طرح میرا (شہر مکہ سے) نکلنا بھی اچھا ہو۔ اور مجھے اپنی طرف سے میری مدد کرنے کا اختیار عطا فرما (یا کوئی مضبوط نشانی یا دلیل)۔

Rabbi Adkhilnee Mudkhala S’idqiw Wa Akhrijnee Mukhraja S’diqiw Waj-a’l Lee Mil Ladunkaa Sult’aanan Nas’eeraa 

 Ayatul Kursi Safar ki Dua

Ayatul Kursi protects the person who recites it before doing anything. Aaytul Kursi safar ki dua is as follows. 

اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاو ;َاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ
